ACCOMMODATIONS

If you're looking for overwater bungalow resorts on the island of Moorea, there are 4:

  • The Intercontinental (largest, near fun water activities)
  • The Hilton (most Americanized)
  • The Pearl (oldest, near several restaurants and stores
  • The Sofitel

If you're a Costco member you can also find travel deals on their travel website

The island of Moorea is so small that wherever you stay, you won't be more than a 30 minute drive from wherever you need to be.

general Travel tips

  • You'll need a passport but no visa to travel to Tahiti
  • Currency: 1 USD = 112.43 French Franc (XPF)
  • Tahiti time is 3 hours behind Utah time
  • The CDC recommends routine vaccines as well as Hepatitis A and Typhoid. You can get more information here.

From Pape'ete to Moorea

  • Once you flight lands in Pape'ete, Tahiti, you'll need to take a 15-20 minute taxi ride to the Ferry Terminal and catch a 35-45 minute Ferry to the island of Moorea. Tickets are approximately $15. The Ferry does not travel at night, so you may need to spend one night in Tahiti. Here's the schedule.
